At-Home Learning
Week of Monday, April 13
I miss you guys so much. This week, I am just posting a small amount of sight-reading review, as I work on getting together some more substantial material into Schoology, which we will start to use next week.

- Notice that there are different packets for Chorus Classes and Varsity Choirs.
- Chorus Classes: You can do the activities that are circled — 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.11, 2.12
- Varsity Choirs: Do the four activities that are boxed — 2.37, 2.38, 2.39, 2.40. In 2.37 and 2.38, you have two choices — either count half notes as the beat, and everything else in proportion (so quarter notes will be half beats)(this is the technically correct way), OR you can still count half notes with two beats (quarters as one beat), and you'll just end up counting 8 beats per measure. In 2.39 and 2.40, the eighth note is the beat, which means 16ths are half beats (so they will be counted like "eighth notes.")

Hi, everybody; I am glad that you've found our at-home learning page!
I miss you guys! Feel free to send me emails or messages on Remind! (Full disclosure though, I don't always have notifications on for Remind).
Just FYI, I am hoping to post information/materials for 2020-2021 choir auditions on this page sometime soon!
Below, you will find links to at-home learning materials for the week!
There is a PDF of daily activities for Men's/Treble, and a separate PDF of daily activities for Women's/Mixed.
There is one PDF of sight-reading materials for the week :D

- In the sight-reading PDF, I am suggesting you do the exercise numbers that are BOXED WITH A SQUARE :)
- You can use a pitch pipe app or a piano app to give yourself the correct starting note, OR you can just hum a note you think is close to "do," set tonic on that note, and proceed from there!
- Make sure to consider the clefs, key signatures, and time signatures :) Many don't start on "do," and many are in the bass clef!
- There are some duets in this PDF as well...so if you are quarantined with a friend and you perform one of these (as long as you are 6 feet away from one another) I will reward you with praise and Cougar Pride tickets.
- In summary:
- Y'all should honestly be practicing sight reading at home and come back to school stunting on everyone.
- But seriously it is such good mental activity, like solving little puzzles except you're singing!!!
Stay healthy, y'all!
